Staging of Stomach Cancer
In the United States, the most common way of staging is the TNM Staging system. T stands for Tumor and how many layers of the stomach wall the tumor penetrated. N stands for Lymph Nodes and how many lymph nodes has the cancer spread too. It also looks where the lymph nodes are affected and how close to the original tumor– regional and distant. M stands for metastasis. Has it spread to anywhere else?
